Privacy Policy

GigCrate, a Global Apogee product

Last updated: 27 August 2026

This policy explains what information GigCrate processes when DJs use the platform and when guests take part in an event, and how you can contact us about privacy matters.

DJ account information

When a DJ creates and uses a GigCrate account, we may process:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Business or DJ name
  • Account status
  • Events created
  • Event dates and times
  • Venue information provided by the DJ
  • Event configuration and settings
  • Authentication and account information

Login credentials are handled by our authentication provider. GigCrate does not have access to your password.

Guest information

Guests do not need an account to take part in an event. Guests may voluntarily submit:

  • Name (optional)
  • Song title
  • Artist
  • A dedication or message (optional)
  • Song-request information
  • Voting activity

Browser identifiers and local storage

GigCrate stores a randomly generated identifier in your browser's local storage. This identifier is used only to operate the guest experience, specifically to:

  • Enable voting and removing a vote
  • Prevent ordinary duplicate voting on the same request
  • Identify requests submitted from the current browser
  • Show private request-status updates to the guest who submitted a request
  • Remember the requests you have already sent for an event
  • Apply a short waiting period between song submissions
  • Apply the reasonable limit on active requests set by the DJ
  • Help prevent abuse of the request and voting features

These checks are carried out by our backend so that they cannot be bypassed. They use only this random browser identifier, the event, and the time of your own requests and votes.

This identifier is not linked to an advertising profile, is not shared with other guests or DJs, and is not used for tracking you across other websites. We do not use device fingerprinting. Clearing your browser storage removes the identifier, which also means GigCrate will no longer recognise your earlier requests or votes on that browser.

Service providers

We may use trusted service providers to host, secure and operate GigCrate. These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services. Current examples include our database and backend platform (Supabase), our application hosting platform, and domain and DNS infrastructure.

Public event information

Some guest-submitted information is shown on the public event page so that other attendees can see and vote on requests. This may include:

  • Song title
  • Artist
  • Guest name, if provided
  • Dedication or message, if provided
  • Vote count

Please avoid submitting information you do not want other attendees to see. Requests that a DJ marks as rejected are not shown publicly; they remain visible only to the DJ and to the browser that submitted the request. DJ account details and administrative information are not publicly visible.

Data retention

Information may be retained:

  • While an account remains active
  • While needed to maintain event history
  • As required for support and security purposes
  • Where retention is legally required

Retention practices may evolve as account-deletion and subscription functionality are added to the platform.

You can contact us at gcprivacy@globalapogee.com about matters such as:

  • Requesting access to personal information
  • Requesting correction of personal information
  • Requesting deletion of personal information
  • General privacy questions

Privacy requests will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

International privacy

GigCrate is intended for international use. Privacy rights and obligations differ depending on your jurisdiction, and not every right described in a particular law will apply to every user. We intend to process information in accordance with applicable law and will consider each request on that basis.

Children

GigCrate is not specifically designed for or marketed to children. We do not ask guests or DJs for age information as part of using the service.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information, including authenticated DJ accounts, access controls, database-level permissions, isolation between DJ accounts, and secure hosting infrastructure. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
